My frozen fries came out totally soggy after 15 minutes at 400 degrees.

Turns out I was crowding the basket way too much, so what's the best way to do a full bag for my family of four without having to cook in tiny batches?

Did you try shaking the basket halfway through? That can help a lot. For a full bag, you need to use a bigger pan or cook on two racks. Spread them in a single layer, not piled up. If they touch, they steam instead of getting crispy. It might take a few more minutes, but it's better than soggy fries.

Wait, isn't the whole point of an air fryer basket that you can pile stuff in and it still works? I thought shaking was the key move for a full load. Using two racks or a bigger pan sounds like using an oven, so why even have the air fryer then? Maybe some models just can't handle a full bag no matter what you do.
