Rant: An A&P in Wichita told me to torque by feel, and I still think that's wrong
He looked at my wrench and said 'son, you'll never have a torque spec in the field.' That was 12 years ago on a King Air nose gear, and I still bring my wrench to every annual.
Twelve years and it still bugs you? Man, I get it though. Telling someone you'll never have a torque spec in the field is nuts. That spec is in the manual for a reason, and a nose gear isn't exactly the place to guess. I'd have asked him if he torques his own lug nuts by feel too. Good on you for keeping that wrench in the bag all this time.
