I thought those new wireless glass break sensors were just hype

A client in Austin insisted on them for a big house job, so I gave in. After a year, not a single false alarm from the dozen I installed, even with their loud parties. The old wired ones I used to swear by would have tripped at least twice by now. Anyone else switch over and have the same luck?

Honestly, how loud are these parties? I've seen those glass break sensors get set off by stuff like a metal bowl dropping on a tile floor or a really sharp dog bark hitting the right pitch. They're way better than the old kind for sure, but I wouldn't say they're perfect. I still get the occasional false alarm from a sudden loud noise that just happens to mimic the exact frequency.

Wait, didn't I read somewhere that newer models are starting to use pattern recognition too, not just the sound pitch? Like they listen for the initial crack and then the shatter sound that follows. That might cut down on the dog bark thing @the_andrew. My cousin has one that went off when a big picture frame fell and the glass shattered, but it didn't react to her kid dropping a baking sheet last week. Seems like they're getting smarter about the whole sequence, not just a single loud noise.

Andrew's right, nothing's perfect but they're a huge step up.
