That fan translation site went down and I lost my whole One Piece binge

I was on chapter 1045 of One Piece using this fan translation site I'd been reading on for like 2 years. It was just some random site a guy ran from his basement or whatever. Last Tuesday I went to load the next chapter and got a blank white page with an error code. I tried refreshing and checking Twitter and nothing worked. Turns out the guy got a copyright strike and took everything offline without warning. I had no backup of my reading progress and now I'm stuck trying to remember where I was. Has anyone else had a fave scan site just vanish on them like that?

Wait, you were on chapter 1045 and lost all your progress? That is brutal, I would have been so mad. I feel your pain though, I lost my spot on a different scan site a few years back when it just randomly went dark one weekend. I was in the middle of reading Naruto and had no clue what chapter I was on either, so I had to just guess and ended up skipping like 50 chapters.

Is it really that big of a deal though? You can just skim the chapter titles to find where you left off.
