Guy at the gun show in Reno sold me a 50 cal ammo can for 8 bucks and called me smart for not buying the plastic one
I was at the show last Saturday and this older vendor named Ray watched me pick up one of those cheap plastic dry boxes, then he just shook his head and pointed at a dented metal ammo can behind him. He popped the lid, showed me the rubber gasket still soft after who knows how many decades, and asked me where I thought my rice and meds would be in five years if water got in. Been storing my matches and backup meds in that can for a week now, and I keep wondering how many other cheap swaps like this I have walked right past. What is the one dumb cheap thing you almost skipped that turned out to matter?
