Appreciation post: the old wire brush and vacuum trick for a tight flue
Had a 2018 gas dryer in a tight laundry closet last week where the flue was completely blocked, so I used a 3/8 inch wire brush on a drill and my shop vac to clear it in about 15 minutes without taking the whole unit out.

Just a heads up, that's a dryer vent, not a flue (that's for a furnace or water heater). Same idea though, good trick.

My last house had three things Clark would call flues and zero actual flues.

Yeah, got me on the technical term there. In my defense, when you spend all day looking at actual flues, everything starts to look like one. Dryer vent, flue, exhaust pipe... it's all just a tube that needs to not be clogged. The brush and vac method is solid no matter what you call it.
