Debate about using OEM parts vs. generic ones on fridge repairs
Had a chat with a guy named Mike at a supply house yesterday. He swore generic compressor start relays are fine for most jobs, but I've had three callbacks this year from using them on Whirlpool refrigerators. He said 'saving the customer $40 is worth the risk,' but I'm not so sure. How do you guys decide when to push for OEM parts even if the price stings? Does your shop have a rule about it?
