inFinally got a clean break on a full beef rib rack
So you finally figured out the saw won't cut faster if you yell at it? I'm just kidding, @jennys72. It took me years to learn that same lesson about not forcing the tool. I used to push so hard I'd wear myself out in ten minutes. Now I go slow and steady, and the work is actually easier. It feels like a simple thing, but it changes everything once you get it.

inQuestion about the old way of doing rigging signals
Sounds like @the_thomas gets why I still use hand signals.

inWarning: People keep saying 'cancel culture is new' but my grandma told me about blacklisting in the 1950s... it's just louder now.
Your grandma is right on the money. The tools have just changed from whispered names at a studio gate to a trending hashtag. Makes me feel old to remember when a bad review was just a letter to the editor and not a global pile-on. The human urge to publicly shame is a real constant, for better or worse. Guess some things never change, they just get a faster internet connection.

inHeard a guy at the hardware store say 'one person can't make a difference' about recycling
My friend's neighbor said the same thing about voting last year, that her one vote in a big state wouldn't matter. She almost didn't go. But she did, and she found out later her precinct was decided by like, twelve votes. It totally changed how she talks about this stuff now. She tells everyone that line of thinking is a trap, because if everyone who felt small stayed home, nothing would ever move. It's the exact same with recycling, you have to be part of the pile or the pile doesn't exist.

inOur core washout rate went from 15% to under 2% in six months after we changed one thing
Reminds me of when @jamesf26 tweaked their oven...
