Tried that condenser coil cleaning foam everyone raves about

I sprayed it on a filthy fridge coil last Tuesday and came back to find it had turned into a solid white crust that took me an hour to chip off. The stuff worked great on the box demo but I guess real world grease and dust is a different animal. Anyone else had a cleaner turn into a bigger headache than the original dirt?

Is it really that serious though? Like you had to chip off some crust for an hour lol. Just hit it with a wire brush and move on.

Oh man, you really gotta feel for the person dealing with that crust. I've been there with an old cast iron skillet that had a layer so thick it felt like a science experiment gone wrong. An hour of chipping off crust is an honest day's work, @sullivan.finley, but a wire brush won't cut it if the seasoning's already flaking off in chunks. Sometimes you just gotta take the time to do it right or you'll end up with rust spots and regret later. Hope they got it sorted.
