Guy at the supply yard in Boise said topping is harmless, my old foreman called it a slow death
Two crews on the same street last month did opposite things to the same silver maples, and the topped one is already pushing weak water sprouts while the other is fine. Which side do you land on, and has anyone actually seen a topped tree recover long term?
