I finally got the throw line over that 80 ft oak limb after 2 hours and a broken big shot
Had a dead white oak in a backyard off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie with one cracked leader hanging right over a shed. Spent close to two hours trying to set a line, kept snagging on a crotch about 60 ft up, and snapped the band on my big shot on the third attempt. Finally just climbed the next tree over with spikes and a pole saw, swung the throw bag sidearm, and got it first try. What do you all do when a crotch just eats every throw, any tricks besides going up and setting it by hand?
