Took down a 40 foot sweetgum over a fence in Asheville without a single scratch on the shed
Three weeks ago a homeowner on Haywood Rd asked me to remove a sweetgum that was leaning hard over her neighbor's shed. I rigged the top in two pieces, let the first one run on a steel biner, and lowered the rest with a friction saver so nothing swung back. The tricky part was the spar, only about 18 inches from the roof line, so I climbed it in spikes and chunked it down piece by piece. When the last log hit the grass her neighbor came out and just said 'I didn't hear a thing.' Any of you got a go-to trick for tight drop zones?
