Just realized the best advice I ever got came from a random guy at a gas station in Omaha
This was about two years ago, I was driving a long haul for work and stopped to fill up. I was stressed about a big family thing, and this older guy at the next pump just looked over and said, 'Kid, you can't solve a problem that hasn't happened yet.' It sounds simple, but I mean, it just clicked. I spent the rest of that week focusing on what was actually in front of me instead of worrying about the 'what ifs'. It made everything feel way more manageable. Has anyone else had a moment like that, where a total stranger said something that just stuck with you?

Omaha's a weird place for life advice but okay. That phrase is basically just "don't worry about the future" repackaged. It's a nice thought for a gas station chat, but real problems often need planning, not just ignoring them until they show up.

Ever been so stressed planning you just froze? I stopped trying to solve everything at once. Just pick the next small thing and do that.
