Vent: That flickering dash light was just a loose battery cable

I had a car in the shop with random electrical gremlins. Instead of diving into complex diagnostics, I wiggled the battery connections. Sure enough, the positive terminal was barely tight. A quick tighten with a wrench fixed everything. It's a good reminder to start with the basics before assuming the worst.

A mechanic told me loose connections cause half of all electrical problems.

Half seems like a really high number though. I've had my share of weird electrical stuff and it's usually a blown fuse or a bad sensor. Not sure I buy that it's always just a loose wire.

But where's the proof for that number? Seems like a guess someone just threw out there.
