FedEx held my side mirror hostage, broker refused to help twice

Delivering a 2021 Civic from Phoenix to Denver last Saturday, the side mirror arrived cracked from a pallet shift. Driver quoted a $220 replacement and a 3 day delay if we waited. Broker said to just note it on the paperwork and keep moving. I called three local shops myself and got a used mirror for $90 installed in 90 minutes. The buyer was happy, but the broker never even sent a follow up. Has anyone else had to fix damage mid-run just to keep a schedule alive?
