The Portland to Denver run that ate my whole Saturday

My usual dispatcher called at 7am with a last minute pickup in Portland and a drop off in Denver by Sunday night. The client added a second vehicle at the last stop, which meant I had to reposition the ramps twice and eat an extra hour of fuel stops. By 6pm I was still 200 miles out and the traffic near the Snoqualmie Pass was crawling. Has anyone else had a single add-on vehicle completely wreck their planned route timing, or is it just me?
