I finally caved and bought that $80 fiber optic borescope to check behind a panel, and it basically turned into a horror movie.

Remember when people said you were crazy for buying a specialty tool for a one-time job? I used to be one of them. Then I borrowed a scope to check a weird smell near my dryer vent. I found a whole family of mice, a pile of chewed-up insulation, and one very old, very dead bird. That little camera paid for itself in pure peace of mind right then.

Oh man, my buddy did that to look for a mouse nest in his wall. He saw a huge pile of dead bugs and what looked like a single, shiny animal eye staring back. He screamed and dropped his phone.
