My date went silent when I explained my strict sleep routine

I was out with someone new and we got onto the topic of daily habits. I said I have to be in bed by 10 PM because of a shoulder injury from my cooking job. They froze and said that sounded like a prison schedule, which killed the mood. Most advice says to skip health stuff to keep dates easy and fun. I think that's wrong because hiding real life just delays problems. That awkward pause showed me we would never understand each other. Do you ever bring up health limits early on?

But why would you bring that up at all on a first date? Honesty is good, but dumping your medical history on someone you just met is a sure way to kill the vibe. First dates are for light and fun chats, not for laying out your limits and schedules like you're negotiating a contract. Save the real life stuff for later, when you both actually like each other and can handle it without weird silences. That early on, you're just shooting yourself in the foot for no reason.

What, you don't think a list of allergies is good first date small talk?

Honestly, it's not like you're handing them a doctor's note.
