My first real date in 15 years ended with a broken shoe and a car that wouldn't start

I got back into dating after my divorce last fall, and on Tuesday night at a diner in Lansing my heel snapped off walking to the car... then the battery died. Has anyone else had a date where everything mechanical just gave up on you?

Oh man, that SUCKS. Did you at least get a laugh out of it? My best friend's first date after her divorce, her clutch literally fell out of her car in the middle of an intersection. They had to push it to a gas station together.

Pretty sure a clutch is something you press with your foot, not something that falls out of a car. Unless it literally broke off, which would be impressive.
