PSA: I blew $130 on a matchmaking service and got set up on the worst date of my life
The guy showed up 40 minutes late to the Olive Garden in Reno with his mom waiting in the car. Anyone else get burned by a paid setup, or is that just me?
Stuff like this seems to happen anytime someone tries to turn a normal human thing into a paid product. Same reason those meal kit boxes cost a fortune and still leave you cooking for an hour. Same reason a $200 app that promises to find you friends just sends you to a group chat that dies in two days. When you pay for the shortcut, you usually get the leftovers nobody else wanted. That's not a knock on you, it's just how these services work, they sell you access and then hand you whatever is cheapest on their end. The mom in the car detail is brutal though, that guy should've been paying you for the ride.
