My $80 digital food scale gave up after 3 weeks of light use

Bought a fancy scale from a local kitchen shop in Austin and now it just flashes 0.0 at me no matter what I put on it - anyone else had one of these die on them for no reason?

Did you try hitting it harder or giving it a stern talking to? That usually fixes my cheap tech when it acts up. $80 for 3 weeks is a special kind of insult though, like paying for a fancy dinner and getting a side of food poisoning. Return that thing and get a basic one for $20 that'll probably outlast your toaster.

Man that's what I'm wondering too - how bad does something have to be to only last 3 weeks? Like was it DOA out of the box or did it just randomly stop working one day? I've had cheap earbuds that died after a few months but 3 weeks is next level terrible. Did you try getting a replacement or did the company ghost you?
