My aunt gave me a single slipper for Christmas
She handed me a wrapped box and inside was one fuzzy slipper, size small. I asked her where the other one was and she said "you only have one left foot." I laughed it off but later realized she was right, I lost my left foot in an accident 10 years ago. It hit different because she actually thought about my situation instead of just grabbing a random pair off the shelf. Has anyone else gotten a gift that was weirdly thoughtful in the wrong way?

Are we sure this wasn't just her finding a single slipper on sale and wrapping it up? Feels like a convenient excuse for a cheap gift to me.

Honestly, people are making this way bigger than it needs to be. It's a slipper, not a diamond ring or something. Ngl, if my partner got me a joke gift like that I'd probably just laugh it off and move on. Tbh, the whole "cheap gift" angle feels kinda harsh when nobody even knows if she had a reason or it was just a silly thing. Seems like a lot of drama over a single fuzzy shoe.

Right? A single slipper is like a relationship status update nobody asked for. Reminds me of the time I got a used spatula for my birthday, still laughed about it. Sometimes the weirdest gifts make the best stories.
