That $18 avocado slicer from Amazon sits in my drawer unused
Bought it back in March because I was tired of pitting avocados with a knife and nearly stabbing myself. The thing has three prongs and a weird plastic scoop, but it just smashes the fruit instead of slicing it clean. Lost $18 on that impulse buy, plus another 10 minutes scraping mushy avocado off my cutting board. Has anyone else bought a single-use gadget that just made the job harder?

Ended up using a plain chef's knife, works way better.
