Looked up the budget for the Point Break remake and my jaw dropped

I was curious after hearing people bash it so I checked Wikipedia. The 2015 remake cost 120 million dollars. The original 1991 movie cost 24 million. I don't get how anyone thought spending 5 times more on a worse version of a cult classic was a good idea. Has anyone else looked up the numbers on a remake that shocked them?
