The worst remake I saw was RoboCop from 2014 at an AMC in Phoenix last month
I sat through the whole thing and it felt like they sanded off every sharp edge that made the original special. The original had this gritty feel that the 2014 version totally missed. Why do studios take a classic and just drain all the personality out of it?

The 2014 version was actually the first RoboCop I ever saw and it got me to check out the original. Sometimes a remake can work as a gateway for a new generation even if it doesn't match the original's tone.

Why do they think making things shiny makes them better? The 2014 version was like a PG-13 action figure instead of actual RoboCop.

My buddy Dave dragged me to see the 2014 RoboCop opening weekend. He fell asleep 20 minutes in and snored through the whole second act. Woke up during the credits and asked if they were already showing something else.
