Watched the 2016 Ghostbusters after the original and felt like someone remade my favorite sandwich with soggy bread.

The original had that dry, smart humor that felt like real people, but the remake just shouted jokes at you like a bad sitcom. Anyone else think some classics just need to be left alone?

Honestly, the bigger issue for me was the CGI overload. The original used practical effects that gave it a weird, tangible feel. The remake felt like a cartoon, all green screen and no weight to anything. That slickness took away the charm of a bunch of regular schlubs figuring it out. The jokes felt forced because the whole world looked fake to begin with. It lost that grounded New York feel that made the first one work.

Come on, it's a movie about hunting ghosts. The original had guys in rubber suits too, let's not act like it was a documentary. So the new one is shiny, big deal. You're telling me the charm was in the grimy New York streets and not in Bill Murray being a jerk? The jokes in the first one were just as silly. Maybe we're all taking a comedy about spooky blobs way too seriously.

Always thought the effects were just a small part of it. Reading your point about the fake world making the jokes feel off really clicked for me. You're right, the charm was in that messy, real feeling.
