Watching the 2016 'Ben-Hur' remake with my dad was a whole experience

He fell asleep after 20 minutes, then woke up during the chariot race and yelled 'They ruined it!' at the screen. Anyone else have a remake that put their family to sleep?

Oh man, that's perfect. My mom did the same thing with the new "Point Break". She loved the original, so we tried the remake. She was out cold before they even finished the first surfing montage. Woke up for the big wingsuit jump, squinted at the screen, and just said "This is stupid" before going back to sleep. Some remakes just have a real sleepy vibe to them.

Hold up, I gotta defend the remake here! That wingsuit scene is actually insane and the stunts are next level. The original is a classic, but this one is just trying to be its own big, dumb, fun ride. Your mom fell asleep because it's a chill movie to watch, not a bad one. Sometimes you just want to see cool visuals without a deep story, and that's okay.
