I called the city about a noise complaint and they actually showed up

My neighbor across the street has been having these huge, loud parties every Friday for about two months. I was sure calling the non-emergency line was a waste of time, but last week I finally did it around 11 PM. A city code officer actually came out within 30 minutes and told them to shut it down. I guess the noise ordinance here in Springfield is stricter than I thought. Has anyone else had a city actually follow through on a complaint like that?

Honestly, they tried the quiet kind. No yelling, just this cold shoulder treatment that made the whole place feel weird. It was like they were waiting for me to mess up so they could point and say "see?" That passive stuff gets under your skin more than a direct fight sometimes. Makes you question every little move you make.
