My grandma's pie crust recipe ended up in a puddle on the floor last Sunday
I was making my grandma's famous apple pie for a family dinner, and the dough felt perfect. But when I tried to roll it out on the counter, it started sticking bad. I added a little flour, then more, and suddenly the whole thing fell apart into wet chunks. My sister walked in and said 'looks like you're making pie soup instead.' I laughed but was so frustrated inside. Turns out I forgot to chill the butter long enough, so it melted into a mess. The pie ended up tasting okay but looked like a disaster. Has anyone else ruined a family recipe with one simple mistake?

Take it easy, it's just pie crust. Grandma probably messed up her first few tries too before she got it right.

Easy there @matthewkim, but a bad crust is worth a little frustration.

Honestly @matthewkim, have you tried using vodka in your pie dough? The alcohol evaporates fast in the oven so it gives you a tender flaky crust without making it soggy.
