Rant: forgot to add sugar to my chocolate chip cookies last night and wondered why they tasted like salty cardboard

I was halfway through a batch at 11pm in my tiny apartment kitchen when I realized the dough looked weird, took a bite, and instantly knew I'd ruined 2 cups of flour and a whole block of butter has anyone else done something this dumb mid-bake?

My buddy once made cookies with salt instead of sugar, whole tray went in the trash.

The "whole tray went in the trash" part got me. That's a brutal fail. I bet they could have saved some of it if they caught it early. Dough tastes awful with salt though, no coming back from that. Just a total waste of butter and eggs.
