I picked a $40 pair of clippers over the $200 ones everyone pushes

I needed new clippers for my chair and everyone online said to get the expensive cordless ones. I went with the basic corded Wahl Seniors instead. Used them for a full week on every cut, even a tough 3-hour skin fade session. They ran cool and never slowed down. Has anyone else found the high-end stuff is just extra cost for things you don't need?

Man, that reminds me of when I bought a super cheap orbital sander for a project. The fancy ones had all these speed settings and dust collection bags. Mine just had an on/off switch and a cord. Sanded an entire tabletop with it, and it never even got warm. Felt like a genius for not falling for the upgrade.

My last "upgrade" was a fancy coffee grinder with a digital timer. Used it twice before it started making a sad whining noise. Went back to my ten year old hand crank one that just works. Felt pretty dumb looking at that expensive paperweight on the counter.

Remember my buddy who bought that pricey cordless drill with like four batteries? He used it to hang a shelf and the battery died halfway through the second screw. He finished the job with my old corded drill from a garage sale. It just hummed along like it was nothing.
