Pro tip: stop throwing away your old clipper blades after one use

I used to toss my Andis blades after they got dull, figured it was cheaper than sharpening. Last week I dropped a set on the concrete floor and the impact actually made them cut better somehow. Anyone else ever had an accident that ended up fixing a tool?

Wait, you dropped an Andis blade on concrete and it started cutting better? That seems backwards. I mean, idk, maybe it knocked a burr off the edge or something? I've dropped plenty of tools over the years and they always end up worse, not better. Actually now I'm kind of curious if tapping a dull blade on something hard could realign the edge like a straight razor. Probably just a fluke though, right? I wouldn't go around smacking your good blades against the floor hoping for magic.

Had a buddy who used to sharpen his own mower blades with a file, right? One day his hand slipped and he smacked the blade hard against the concrete garage floor. Got so mad he almost threw it away, but when he put it back on the mower it cut like butter. He swears that little shock somehow fixed a tiny bend or chip he couldn't even see. Definitely not something you'd want to try on purpose though. Probably just luck that it didn't snap the blade or ruin the edge completely.
