DAE else stand in front of two hand dryers at the Des Moines airport and realize the quiet one is lying to you?
Last Tuesday at gate C4 I had a choice between the old loud Xlerator dryer and a newer quiet one. Went with the quiet one thinking my ears would thank me, but it took 45 seconds to get my hands even half dry and I just gave up and wiped them on my jeans. Turns out the loud one was done in 12 seconds. Has anyone else noticed those quiet dryers never actually work, or is it just the ones they put in smaller airports?
Oh man, this is just the "eco" setting on everything in life, all promise and no results. It's the same deal with low-flow shower heads and those "energy saving" washers that run for two hours and leave your clothes soaking wet. The quiet hand dryer is really just a guy softly breathing on your hands for a full minute.
