My buddy Dave ruined my Sunday night shows with one question about cliffhangers
Dave came over last Sunday to help me swap a blower motor and caught me mid rewatch of a show I have seen 4 times already. He asked why I keep going back to stuff I know the ending to instead of trying something new, and it stuck with me more than it should have. Now I am 6 episodes into a show from Denmark with subtitles and I am hooked, but I still miss my comfort rewatches. Does anyone else split their time between old favorites and new stuff, or do you just pick one lane?
Watching a show you already know the ending to is not some big problem that needs fixing. Your friend asked a normal question and you turned it into a life crisis, which honestly says more about you than about his question. Lots of people bounce between comfort shows and new stuff, and there is nothing wrong with that mix. You can enjoy a Danish show with subtitles and still go back to your old favorites the next night, that is just having different moods. It is not a lane you have to pick, it is just TV, so stop treating it like a decision that needs a philosophy behind it. Watch what you want when you want and let Dave worry about his own Sunday nights.
