Warning: skip the first 3 episodes of Dark, they're a slog

I almost gave up on Dark last month because the first 3 episodes felt like watching paint dry. But my buddy kept insisting, so I powered through and by episode 5 I was hooked into one of the best time travel shows I've ever seen. Has anyone else almost dropped a show too early?

Yeah, that's basically how I got through The Wire, had to force myself past the first few episodes.
