Forty boxes of mismatched Tupperware later, I get why Mom hoarded lids
Cleaned out my folks' basement in Peoria last spring and counted 40 boxes of random plastic containers, most without matching lids. Every drawer in our house has the same chaos now, and I finally see it was her way of keeping every option open, not just being messy. Anyone else hit a weird household milestone that made their parent's habits suddenly make sense?
Ugh, my buddy Jake found like 15 of those glass pyrex bowls with the blue flowers in his grandma's garage, all with lids, but none of them fit the bowls. He was about to toss them when his mom said she kept them because the mismatched ones were "the best for marinating." Now he's got a whole cabinet of bowl chaos, but he gets it too.
