Finally ditched the stick welder for a mig on my last tank repair in Tulsa
I had to pick between dragging the old buzz box around or renting a mig setup for a cracked 500 gallon tank last month. Ended up going with the mig since I was on a tight deadline and it cut my cleanup time in half. Any of you guys made the switch and regretted it or was it worth the extra setup?

Mig laid down cleaner than your stick work @paigep20, I regret not renting one sooner.

Made the same swap a few months back on a feed tank job and never looked back. The mig just lays down bead so much cleaner with way less slag to chip off after. I was done in half the time compared to when I used the stick on a similar sized repair last year. Worth every bit of the rental cost for me, especially since I didn't have to spend an hour cleaning up afterwards.
