The 40 year old caulk gun that outshot my new one

My old man handed me his rusty caulk gun from the 80s after I bitched about my spring-loaded one jamming on a manway seal job, and it laid down a bead so clean I redid two other nozzles with it, so who else has an old beat up tool that beats the new stuff you bought?

It just feels balanced right in your hand, no fancy grip or shock absorption needed. I also got a vintage hand brace drill from a yard sale that eats through wood like it's butter, while my cordless one bogs down if I look at it wrong. The old stuff was just built with more honest metal, no cheap plastic internals waiting to strip out. My new caulk gun is sitting in the shed too, by the way. I only grab it if I lose the old one.
