Tried a different method for rolling tube sections and it saved me hours

We had to roll a bunch of 6-inch carbon steel pipe for a job in Tulsa, and I usually just eyeball the feed on the three-roll bender. My partner insisted we use the pre-marked angle guides on the machine instead. The first section came out perfect on the first try, no rework, and we finished the whole set before lunch. What's a small change in your routine that ended up being a huge time saver?

Nice! Did you guys measure the finished pieces to see how close they were?

We measured the last batch and the tolerances were way off, like plus or minus two millimeters. The whole point of the project was hitting exact specs, so that's a fail in my book. I get why some folks might call it close enough for hobby work, but it just doesn't meet the standard we were going for. Honestly, it means we have to redo the whole setup from scratch.

Imagine setting up a whole project for exact specs and then getting parts that are off by a whole two millimeters. That's like ordering a custom bookshelf and getting one that's too tall to even fit in the room. I feel for you, @adams.jana, because now you're stuck redoing everything. Some people might shrug and say it's fine, but if the standard was precision, then it's just not right. Starting over is the only move that makes sense.
