Why does every new guy think a 4.5 inch grinder is fine for cutting 1 inch plate?
Watched a helper burn through three cutting wheels in ten minutes last Tuesday on a tank repair in Gary, then had the nerve to say the wheels were cheap when he should've grabbed a 7 inch or a torch to start with, has anyone else noticed this trend with the younger guys?

Oh man, I've seen this exact thing more times than I can count... watched a kid at the shop try to zip through some 3/4 inch plate with a little 4.5 and it was like watching a beaver try to fell a redwood. He went through a whole five pack of discs and the metal barely had a scratch, then blamed it on the brand like that was the problem. I finally just handed him my 7 inch and told him to stop being stubborn, it's like they think using the right tool means admitting defeat or something.
