Just realized I've been folding signatures against the grain for 3 yrs
Was struggling to get a flat spine on a rebind of a 1940s atlas last Tuesday when a bindery guy in Portland pointed out I was folding with the grain instead of across it, and now my text blocks sit so much flatter, has anyone else mixed this up or is it just me?
Three years of fighting your own paper and a guy in Portland solves it in one sentence. That is the most bindery thing I have ever heard. At least now your text blocks are happy and your wrists get a break.
