That grain direction issue on a little notebook took me 5 hours to fix
I was binding a batch of A6 notebooks for a craft fair and realized the grain was running the wrong way on the covers... After fighting with warping for three afternoons I finally had to cut new boards and start over. Has anyone else spent way too long fixing a simple grain mistake?

My buddy Jeremy spent a whole weekend regluing a sketchbook after realizing his grain was off.

Oh man, that's brutal. Five hours is a lot to lose to something that simple. I feel your pain, I've definitely been there with grain direction more times than I care to admit.

Read a blog post last week where a bookbinder said the rule of thumb is to check grain direction three times before cutting anything. Sounds like you found out the hard way too.
