My monstera dropped 4 leaves in one week and I finally figured out the dumb reason
So I've had this monstera for about 2 years and it was doing great, pushing out new leaves every few months, and then last week it just started going downhill fast. I lost 4 leaves in 7 days, all from the bottom, turning yellow then brown then crispy. I panicked and did the whole google spiral, checked for root rot, checked for pests with a flashlight for like an hour, moved it away from the window thinking it was sunburn. Nothing worked. Then my roommate asked if I'd changed anything lately and I realized I moved it about 2 feet closer to the radiator back in November when I was rearranging my living room. That was it. The heat was cooking the soil from below and drying it out way faster than I thought. I moved it back across the room and it's already stopped dropping leaves. Has anyone else had a plant fail on them over something this stupid? I feel like such an idiot for not putting it together sooner.
