That $75 Etsy orchid arriving dead was my last straw
Paid $75 for a 'mature' Paphiopedilum from a shop with 4.9 stars and 300 reviews. Shipped in a box with just newspaper, no heat pack, and it was 28 degrees out. Took photos of the rot the day it arrived, sent them within 2 hours, and now it's been 6 days of silence. Has anyone actually gotten a refund from one of these smaller plant sellers, or am I just out the cash and should stick to local nurseries for good?
Six days of silence is annoying but that's not the same as being scammed, most of these small shops are just one person drowning in messages. Send one more note saying you'll file a chargeback if you don't hear back in 48 hours, that usually gets things moving without needing to give up on online sellers.
