Vent: My ficus drop its leaves like it was a drama queen

I moved my ficus lyrata about 2 feet closer to a south window last Sunday and by Wednesday it had shed like 14 leaves all over my rug. I thought maybe it was shock from the change but I'm starting to think it just hates my apartment in general. Has anyone else had a ficus just give up on life for no obvious reason?

Did you water it right after moving it? Mine did the same thing.

Waited maybe 30 minutes before watering it. Could that have been too soon? I've heard some people say you should let the roots settle for at least a few hours before giving them a drink. What kind of soil mix did you use? I'm starting to wonder if mine is just sitting in something too heavy.
