My 14-hour gaming marathon in a studio apartment turned into a fire alarm nightmare
I was deep into a new RPG last Tuesday in my 400-square-foot place in Austin, and right as I hit the final boss around 2 AM, the building alarm went off because some guy three floors down burned popcorn, and I stood outside in my socks for 45 minutes while my save file sat there, has anyone else had a real-world interruption ruin the perfect gaming moment?
Did your save at least stay intact after all that? I lost a full Diablo character to a surge once, so now I keep a quick save right before any big fight, it's saved my sanity more than once.
