I finally gave up on that expensive coffee subscription after a year
I spent about $35 a month for a year on a fancy coffee brand's subscription service because their ads made it sound like the best thing ever. I thought I was getting top quality beans, but honestly, after trying a friend's local roaster blend, mine just tasted flat and bitter. The final straw was when my last bag arrived stale, and customer service just sent a generic apology email. That's over $400 down the drain for coffee that wasn't any better than what I can get at the store. I guess I just got caught up in the brand's image and didn't actually check if the product was good. Has anyone else had a coffee subscription let them down? I'm looking for a good local roaster now.

Local roasters are way better than those big subscriptions.

Totally, and you get to actually talk to the people who make it.

I mean, my last subscription sent me coffee that tasted like it was roasted in a warehouse next to a tire fire. The local guy actually remembers my name and asks how the brew turned out, which is a nice change from an automated "we hope you enjoy your monthly disappointment.
