I still lay bricks the old way with a line and pins
Been doing this 22 years and I see everyone using laser levels now, but I swear by my line and pins for long runs... keeps me honest. Anyone else find lasers make you sloppy with your coursing?

I read a piece in Fine Homebuilding last year that said laser levels can drift out of calibration if you drop them a few times. That 22 years of muscle memory with line and pins probably makes you faster than setting up a laser anyway. Old school methods get the job done and cost way less to replace if something breaks.

That Fine Homebuilding piece say anything about humidity messing with laser accuracy too?
