Last week on a patio job in Austin, I was laying the first course and kept bending over every single brick. My back was screaming by 10 AM. So I grabbed a scrap 2x4 and laid it flat in front of the footing, then rested my knee on it while I set each unit. That little lift cut the bend in half and I finished the whole row without a single stretch break. Anyone else use a knee board or wedge trick for low work, or am I the last guy to figure this out?
