Appreciation post: I used to buy those pre-made salad kits for $7 each, now I just grab a head of lettuce and a bottle of dressing.

My grocery bill dropped by like 30 bucks a month after I stopped buying bagged salad and pre-cut veggies. It feels like a ton of food is just packaging and marketing now. You pay for the idea of convenience, but ripping up lettuce takes two minutes. I see it with everything from seasoning packets to pre-made pasta sauce. The basic parts are so much cheaper and you end up with way less plastic trash.

Yeah blake322, it's wild how that "convenience" tax adds up. I bet they bank on people feeling too tired to do the small stuff after work lol.
